We love it when a local boy makes good, so when superstar dj Tom Stephan (aka Superchumbo) took a break from his worldwide schedule to come back to London to play at Revolver, we just had to pop along and say 'hi'. Appropriately enough, Revolver was at the Scala in Kings Cross which, built before and during the first world war, had it's first use in the manufacture of airplane parts. Anyhoo, no bouncing bombs for them tonite, just the sound of ricocheting hips as hot-to-trot dancers lit up the podiums and dance captain Logan wielded his new toy ’Äì a portable CO2 canon for cooling the audience and scaring the bejesus out of anyone not ready for its icy tickle up their back! Classic anthems and cutting edge house came courtesy of the afore mentioned Mr Stephan and new resident Paul Heron who between them played to a main room stuffed with the hottest, cutest and best looking bunch of guys we have seen in a long time - there might be a credit crunch but golly these boys' gym memberships are certainly not suffering!

This was the last Revolver at the Scala as, from the end of October, they are going weekly in another former cinema, the Astoria, in the heart of the West End. With a dj line up including Nick Tcherniak, Guy Williams and Paul Heron in the main room and Tasty Tim and Dusty O in the trashy pop room you can also expect sublime production, spectacular stage shows, state of the art lighting technology, even more sexy dancers, special guest PA's and other surprise acts, all on the West End's biggest stage. Sounds good to me!
