After a long break from the scene, last week Rome returned with it's own unique brand of stylish clubbing. Moving from Piccadilly's CC Club (which we loved) up the road to Gaydar's flagship Lo Profile, we were promised a transformed venue with class and distinctive elegance. Ok, so it is difficult to improve on an already great club and we're not entirely convinced a few Letraset transfers on their illuminated walls constitutes a 'transformed venue', but the gorgeous crowd of sexy boys didn't give a hoot. It was without doubt one of the most attractive bunch of clubbers we have seen accumulated in an age, and when supplemented by the scorching models and dancers from Fierce International, the mercury almost popped from our thermometer. House music and club anthems eventually persuaded the social butterflies to take to the floor which soon became an uplifting jamboree of Sunday night revellers who weren't about to let the arrival of soggy September dampen their ardour, or anything else.
Considering it's a difficult time for clubs in general but especially for occasional one-offs without a regular following, Rome was the fun and frolicsome party we love to attend... bring it back soon! |
