When Beyond started at the Colosseum all those years ago, Crash was in it's heyday and rammed to the rafters every week, and not knowing when to stop (which of us does?) those muscled-up dancing boys needed somewhere to go. Beyond was absolutely cutting edge and at the forefront of the Vauxhall clubbing scene serving up house every Sunday morning for those who could push through the after-hours slump, and helped to launch the careers of household name DJs like Steve Pitron, Paul Heron and David Jimenez... it's fresh sound was also one of the reasons numbers dwindled at Trade. But, like all things cutting edge, Beyond was imitated by others and, as the market expanded, went in to a slump and retired from the scene. Several attempts were made to revive the old girl but none were successful ... until now! Moving to a newly refurbished Area with it's spectacular sound and light systems, Beyond is again fresh and exciting. The venue is large yet intimate and flows nicely for those wanting a stroll. There is a decked outside terrace - great for the warmer nights (and mornings) and our favourite DJs are back together again as a team. But more importantly, the punters were back too and, as the Sharp Boys took us on an aural journey, it was all arms in the air until our fingers were numb from a lack of blood. Welcome back Beyond - we missed you.
