When Lee Freeman said, "it's all back to mine for a party", he wasn't inviting us to a bedsit in Kings Cross, but to The End, spiritual home of DTPM, for its birthday as the club that started the Sunday revolution celebrated with a bit of the old and lots of the new. Conceived more years ago than anyone can remember (so they have actually stopped counting), DTPM rolled out a fantabuous line-up of resident and guest DJs including Guy Williams, Steve Thomas (live!) and co in the main room bashing out funky and dirty uplifting house, while Ben Jamin and The Di Angelis mashed it up in the Lounge. Cabaret (yes, there really was cabaret at DT!) came courtesy of those hirsuite honies Bearlesque who's 'Dream Bears', a Weimar-era Cabaret and Kylie went down an absolute storm before superstar Boy George took a turn on the tables and brought the whole room to a grinding halt as everyone turned their camera phones on him. Eventually he shoo-ed them away and the dancing continued as he pulled an eclectic set from his box spanning R&B, disco and pop that got possibly the most mixed and mixed-up crowd we have ever seen in a single venue bumping and grinding in harmony. Undoubtedly one the best parties of the year so far we truly hope this is the shape of things to come for DT.
